Job Title: MHS Campus Testing Coordinator & District Testing Assistant
Reports to: High School Principal
Dept./School: Midway High School/Assessment
Exemption Status: Exempt

 

Primary Purpose:
To provide vision and leadership that focuses all staff on improving student’s performance through quality assessment processes and establishes a framework for continuous improvement by seamlessly integrating assessment with curriculum to guide instructional strategies at the High School.


Qualifications:


Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree
Appropriate Texas Certification, preferred


Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Exceptional communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage and coordinate diverse assessment functions through campus level staff
Ability to manage a budget
Ability to coordinate campus functions
Ability to interpret data
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Thorough knowledge of school law, assessment, and accountability


Experience:
Such alternative to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
Experience with state testing, AP testing, SAT/ACT/TSIA procedures preferred


Major Responsibilities and Duties:


Instructional Leadership
1. Prepares and uses research findings, test scores, and district studies to improve the outcome of the teaching/learning process.
2. Monitors implementation of operations of assessment at the high school and district level in conjunction with the District Testing Coordinator.
3. Coordinates and implements the High School testing program.


School Organizational Climate:
4. Demonstrates high expectations of staff and students at all levels.
5. Encourages and recognizes excellence and/or performance of staff.
6. Relates to staff, students and parents in ways that convey mutual respect, concern and high expectations.
7. Maintains a positive and effective relationship with supervisors and campus personnel.
8. Develops data management and utilization procedures to facilitate use of student achievement data for all appropriate staff.

 
Personnel Supervision
9. Fosters collegiality and team building among staff members. Encourages their active enrollment in decision-making processes as it pertains to testing and assessments.


High School Testing Program
10. Organizes and implements the High School testing program.
11. Participates in planning and evaluation of campus standardized testing programs.
12. Develops, implements, provides quality training, and monitor progress including but not limited to the following assessments: STAAR simulations, ACT, SAT and STAAR EOC.
13. Maintains the confidentiality of student assessment.
14. Maintains a communication system that effectively collects and disseminates information to other professionals as appropriate.
15. Disseminate appropriately and communicate to school personnel, students, and their parents.
16. Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy related to student testing.


Administration and Fiscal Facilities Management
17. Supports and follows local, state and federal rules and policies.
18. Interprets and implements district policies and procedures for the school.
19. Assumes responsibility for the fiscal control over assigned program budgets.
20. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:


Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.
Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping.
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move books and classroom equipment.
Environment: Work inside.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
