Primary Purpose:
Work under general supervision to assist students and teachers in use of computers and educational software in campus computer lab.


Qualifications:


Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Educational Aide Certification


Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills
Ability to operate personal computer and educational software
Ability to work with students and teachers effectively
Ability to communicate effectively


Experience:
One year of experience working with children


Major Responsibilities and Duties:


Instructional Support
1. Assist teachers and students in use of computers, printers, and instructional software.
2. Work cooperatively with teachers to identify student placement in instructional software.
3. Input data and maintain computerized and physical files on student progress and use of instructional programs.


Technical Support
4. Run updates on technology equipment throughout the campus.
5. Install a variety of software following written or verbal instructions.
6. Issue devices to staff and students as necessary.
7. Maintain campus technology inventory and update inventory annually.
8. Process and complete technology work orders in a timely fashion. Work orders requiring additional levels of complexity may be forwarded to district technology staff.


Student Management
9. Manage student behavior in the classroom.
10. Help supervise students during arrival and dismissal from school.


Other
11. Assist with office and workroom clerical duties as needed.
12. Maintain confidentiality.
13. Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events as needed.
14. Other duties as assigned by Principal

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional
equipment

Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping
Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: Work inside; exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
